Railroad Roar & 2023 Southeastern Homecoming Celebrations
The Hammond Downtown Development District, Tangipahoa Chamber, and the Southeastern Louisiana University Alumni Association are thrilled to host the biggest Lion Up Tuesday of the year on October 10, 2023. The community is invited to celebrate Southeastern Homecoming 2023 by wearing green and gold to support our Southeastern Lions while shopping and dining locally in Downtown Hammond. The DDD and Tangipahoa Chamber will promote businesses within the area of their restaurant and retail specials to enhance morale and hometown pride.
In the event’s second year revamp, Railroad Roar is a community celebration of Southeastern and quickly becoming a Homecoming tradition in the heart of Downtown Hammond. Featuring live music and community activities, Railroad Roar will complete the day from 5:30-7:00 pm in Railroad Park. Playing original material and covers, The Seymours, formally known as the 61 Suns, a Hammond based rock trio, will provide entertainment for all ages.
Businesses within the DDD and Tangipahoa Chamber are invited to participate in a storefront contest by decorating to show off their Southeastern pride with a chance to win a raffle advertising prize. Businesses can sign up on the Hammond DDD website to participate in the storefront contest, share what specials they have for Homecoming, and the opportunity to adopt a Southeastern flag to show Southeastern and civic pride in Downtown Hammond.
