Chalk Walk

Join the Downtown Development District and the Hammond Regional Arts Center for a Chalk Walk!

Kick off the start of Spring with some Cultural and Creativity through a Downtown Chalk Walk on Saturday, April 29th.  Participation is free AND registration is required. Please note registration is limited to 100 participants. Complete this form and you'll be all set to create public works of art in Downtown Hammond! 

Cate Square Park is the check-in location and ONLY designated chalking area for this event. On-site check-in begins at 2PM. At check-in, please provide the name associated with registration to check-in your full party (if registering for more than one person). Minors under the age of 18 are required to be accompanied by a parent for the duration of the chalk walk.  Each participant will receive a Northshore Arts in Bloom goodie bag with chalk.

This event is open to all ages & skill levels. Please note this is not a judged chalk walk. In the event of inclement weather, the Chalk Walk will be rescheduled to Friday, May 26th.

This event is in partnership with Northshore Arts in Bloom event and the Hammond Downtown Development District.

Join us for Picnic in the Park that will also be held on Saturday, April 29th, 2023. This family-friendly event will be from 5:30PM - 7:30PM.  Presented in partnership with Northshore Arts in Bloom, the community is invited to enjoy a blooming evening with live music, chalk art, and flower displays in the park. Mary’s Wish will take the gazebo stage and rock out the evening with Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks covers. Alcohol will be available for sale (while supplies last).
